Pancakes Recipe
When people hear the title of my book, “The Intimacy You Crave: Straight Talk about Sex and Pancakes” I’ll often hear a chuckle with obvious puzzlement. I can see their brain trying to process what pancakes and sex have in common. The most often question I get is some form of What do pancakes have to do with sex in the book? Well, here’s an answer along with my sensuously scrumptious pancake recipe.
Now for an excerpt from the book:
She wondered if she should say anything. Would he think she was strange? A little goofy, maybe?
What if he laughs at me? It might be best to keep this to myself, Becky thought.
But one day she blurted it out. “I have a fantasy.”
Well, that got Ted’s attention. After twenty years of marriage, getting Ted’s attention wasn’t the easiest task.
With Ted’s undivided focus on her, she said, “I want to have sex and then make pancakes together.”

Pancake Time
Lu’s Pancake Recipe:
Ingredients-
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ¼ cups milk
Butter for greasing pan
Optional: 6 ounces dark chocolate chips or blueberries
- In a medium bowl, add the flour, baking powder, salt, and white sugar. Whisk to combine.
- In a separate bowl, combine egg, vanilla, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
- Stir in the wet ingredients into your dry ingredients, and then hand mix briskly to work out any clumps.
- Optional: Fold in chocolate chips or blueberries.
- Grease the pan with butter, and scoop two spoonful of batter per pancake onto the pan.
- Flip the pancake once air bubbles begin to pop on the surface.
- Cook your pancake to your desired level of golden brown. Serve and enjoy.
So yummy, you won’t even need syrup.
