Glorious Wrinkles

I recently turned older y’all. My face shows I’m not young anymore. And I’m okay with that.

I have wrinkles.

Many in fact.

Wrinkles are battle scars.

I’ve cried, I’ve been concerned, I’ve lived.

Wrinkles are a badge of honor.

Like when one earns their military stripes. I’m going to wear my wrinkles with pride.

Wrinkles tell a story.

It’s a story of life lived, victories won, tears cried.

Wrinkles are years of faithfulness, years of prayer, years of study, precious years given to walk with God.

They are love lines.

Years to love and be loved.

Wrinkles will be celebrated, for they are smile lines, laugh celebrations, a full life lived.

I will not frown at my wrinkles. I will love them and proudly display them for the world to see.

For wrinkles are my stripes of honor.

And I pray that I will live to have a full face covered in glorious winkles—for they represent glorious years lived.

“Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her the product of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.”

-Proverbs 31:30

Will you celebrate wrinkles with me? Let’s embrace God’s glorious badge of honor.
